Morton Pottery traces back to 1877, when six German-born brothers — Andrew, Barthol, Christian, John, Samuel, and Matthew Rapp — settled in Morton, Illinois, and founded the Rapp Brothers Brick and Tile Company, which also did business as Morton Pottery Works.
